Amadora

Lisbon, PortugalUntil recently, Amadora was a predominantly rural area, but it is now a highly developed town, although it has preserved some interesting monuments. Marking the boundary with the city of Lisbon, are the Portas de Benfica, a curious construction from the early 20th century with eight turrets, where traffic used to pay a fee, like an old-fashioned toll.
