Welcome to the STO Events website.

To book your first event on this website, you will need to have an account with us. Existing STO website accounts will not be imported.

Creating an account

To create your account before you book an event:

  • Click Create an account from any page
  • Complete your profile. All fields are mandatory.
  • Click Register. You will receive an email notification for you to activate your account. Check your spam mail folder just in case this message was considered as SPAM.
  • To activate your account, click the link inside this message or copy/paste this URL into your web browser before the security token expires.

Once you have activated your account, you can come back to this site any time and book an event.

Booking an event

  • First log on to this site. Use the credentials you entered when you created your account;
  • Then click Book now against the desired event from the event summary. Check that your booking form is be pre-filled correctly, particularly the Nationality and Country lists.
  • Click Next to confirm that your booking information is correct. Use the Captcha at the bottom of the form and click Book.

You will receive an email notification containing all the details of your booking.

Wait for your Event Manager to process your request. You will be notified by email. Then you can come back and log on to this site any time to download the general information, latest notices, and further information about your event(s).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - GDPR

We are writing to let you know that we are reviewing our privacy policy in response to the EU's General Data Protection Regulations ("GDPR").

While the GDPR is a European law, we are taking this opportunity to clarify our privacy policy to everyone within the STO Community, no matter where you are located.

As a member of the STO Community, we need to hold a certain level of professional information about you in order for us to keep in contact with you and assist your National Coordinator to appoint you to certain activities. The information we hold is split into two distinct categories, NEITHER OF WHICH ARE SHARED ANYWHERE OUTSIDE OF THE STO COMMUNITY.

The two categories are as follows:

CATEGORY 1: Professional information that is shared within the STO Community through the Science Connect portal:
• Title, Name, Nationality, Professional Email, Professional Phone & Fax, Work Address, Employer, Job Title. 

(Category 1 information is to enable us to ensure that access to certain information is made available only to particular nations, and for communication purposes within the STO Community.)

CATEGORY 2: Personal Information that is visible only to the CSO and your National Coordinator:
• Date of Birth, Birth Place, Birth Country.
(Category 2 information is primarily to assist the National Coordinator in appointing you to certain activities.)

HOW WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION
The information we hold on you is fully protected on our internal systems in accordance with NATO Security policies. Both the policies and the protection of your information is regularly updated and tested where we have a dedicated team of professionals working exclusively to ensure that your information is secure at all times.

WHAT CHANGES ARE WE MAKING WITH RESPECT TO GDPR?
• We're being more specific on how we use the information we collect, and how long we keep the data
• We're being more specific about your data preferences and your data rights
• These changes will not affect the way you use the STO Website or Science Connect

YOU DO NOT NEED TO TAKE ANY ACTION, however, if you wish to check and amend the information we hold on you that is shared across the STO Community, you can do so by editing your profile here in STO Events.
