Ramstein is a small town best known for being home to the Ramstein Air Base. Most of those who come to the town visit the base or family members stationed there. Ramstein doesn't have a well-developed tourist industry, but some notable sites are in town and in surrounding areas.

The city of Kaiserslautern is fewer than eight miles from Ramstein. Kaiserslautern is home to a large American community, mostly NATO forces and military personnel and their families.
