The Information Systems Technology (IST) Scientific and Technical Committee (STC) will hold its 54^th Business Meeting on 14-18 October 2024 in Lillehammer, Norway. This meeting will be in-person only.

Participation is open to appointed IST Panel Members, Members-at-Large and Associate Members. Guests will be invited on behalf of the IST STC Chairperson.

Please see the attached General Information Package (GIP) for information on logistics, accommodation, travel, etc. The GIP will be available for download on this website after the IST STC Executive Office has validated your registration.

To register, please log in with your STO Events credentials or create an account if you do not already have one. After logging in, click on the green “Book now” button at the bottom of the page to start the enrolment process.

After validation, return to this page, log in with your credentials and download the GIP located on the right-hand menu or above the bar below.

Registration is open from 10 June until 4 September 2024 at 23:59 CET (Paris time).

Important: you will need to enrol separately for the IST-208 Research Symposium on “Towards the convergence of Edge Computing, Adaptive Networking, and Information Management at the Tactical Edge”, which will be held on 15-16 October 2024 on the same premises.

Applied Vehicle Technology (AVT) Fall 2024 Activity Meetings

By invitation of Germany, AVT Technical and Exploratory Team Activity Meetings will be held in Koblenz, Germany from 14-18 October 2024, in conjunction with 54th AVT PBM. 

This registration is ONLY for individuals who are attending AVT Technical and Exploratory Activity team meetings (i.e. AVT-408 or AVT-ET-246) as appointed members or guests invited by the activity co-chairs. 

Please be aware that the setup for all activity meetings will be "in-person only" (hybrid/virtual attendance is not supported).  

The following events will take place in conjunction with the 54th AVT PBM (separate registration required):

• AVT-SET-SCI-396 Research Symposium on "Technological Challenges due to Hypersonic Flight and the related Weapons Threat"
• AVT-384 Research Specialists' Meeting on " Novel Materials and Manufacturing in Military Vehicle Design"
• AVT-394 Research Specialists' Meeting on "Water sampling, monitoring and control/remediation for live-fire military ranges"

Schedule for Activity Meetings

The Activity Co-Chairs have been contacted by the AVT Panel Office to submit their meeting room requests via a MS Forms Survey by 31 July 2024. They need also to send the AVT Panel Office a list of their guests. The final schedule will be distributed to the Activity Co-Chairs by mid September. All validated and confirmed participants will receive the schedule and room locations of the activity meetings and other read-ahead materials via e-mail one month prior to the start of the meeting week.

The NATO STO Collaboration Support Office and the Applied Vehicle Technology (AVT) Panel will hold a Research Specialists' Meeting on "Novel Materials and Manufacturing in Military Vehicle Design". The in-person meeting will be held in Koblenz, Germany from 16-18 October 2024. 

The meeting is open to citizens from NATO Nations, Australia and Japan. Please note that this is an in-person only event (hybrid/virtual attendance is not possible).

This registration is for individuals who are attending the AVT-384 Research Specialists' Meeting held in conjunction with the 54^th AVT Panel Business Meeting.   

The registration deadline is 06 September 2024.

Objectives:

This meeting aims to promote the exchange of state-of-the-art knowledge among an audience of specialists and invited speakers on novel materials and manufacturing techniques in military vehicle design, particularly its ability to greatly reduce the time required to implement new materials and processes. 

Anticipated topics of discussion span ground, sea, air, and space applications and will include:

• Integration of Novel Materials into design frameworks and agile manufacturing, including characterization, experimental techniques, high temperature materials, metamaterials, multiscale materials, smart materials, and architected/hierarchical materials;
• Integration of Novel Manufacturing capabilities, including agile manufacturing, reconfigurable processes, additive manufacturing, and implications on initial operating capability timelines;
• Developments in Novel Design methods including multidisciplinary design and optimization (such as gradient-based techniques), integration of material design and manufacturing constraints, and AI/ML based generative design.
