Introduction to Quantum Computing in Fluid Dynamics

This lecture series is organized by the von Karman institute for Fluid Dynamics with the financial support of the NATO Science & Technology Organization. The series aims to:

• Introduce participants to the emerging field of quantum computing in fluid dynamics.
• Explore state-of-the-art computational methods and software libraries for applying quantum computing to fluid dynamics simulations and multi-disciplinary optimization.
• Provide a platform for networking and forming international partnerships in this exciting  field.

This lecture series is suitable for individuals with a background in fluid dynamics and an interest in learning about the potential of quantum computing in this field. The program features lectures by leading experts from Belgium, France, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, covering topics such as:

• The basics of quantum computing
• Quantum algorithms for solving differential equations
• Hybrid computing for the NISQ era (noisy intermediate-scale quantum)
• Quantum machine learning and partial differential equations.

Practical Information

• The lecture series will be held in a hybrid format, offering both online and on-site participation. Location: von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics, Waterloosesteenweg 72, 1640 Sint-Genesius-Rode (near Brussels).
